BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County man is facing multiple felony charges after an intense domestic violence incident led to a police investigation that uncovered a large illegal marijuana operation.
On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at approximately 6:09 p.m., deputies with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence complaint at 276 Kiser Road in Bluefield. The caller reported that Henry Kiser had fired a gun at her husband, physically assaulted her, and used a tractor to damage her husband’s vehicle.
She told deputies that Kiser was angry about her husband visiting the property. She claimed Kiser entered the residence, pulled a pistol from his pocket, and fired two shots at her husband, who fled the scene. Kiser then allegedly followed the victim to another nearby home, where he grabbed her by the neck, slammed her onto the porch, and kicked her repeatedly.
While deputies were speaking with her, Kiser approached the scene on a red tractor. He was immediately arrested without incident. During the arrest, Kiser claimed his daughter and her husband were using drugs on his property and made threats against Locklear, stating he would kill him if given the chance.
Locklear later arrived on scene and corroborated Heather’s account. He said Kiser entered the trailer, drew a derringer pistol, and fired two shots at him as he tried to flee. Locklear also reported witnessing Kiser choking and beating Heather and using a tractor to destroy his vehicle.
Deputies attempted to locate the firearm but were initially denied consent to search the property. A search warrant was later obtained. Inside Kiser’s residence, officers found a safe containing several firearms, including a revolver with a wooden handle, which was seized as possible evidence. The suspected derringer-style pistol was not recovered.
While on the property, deputies also noticed a strong odor of marijuana. Upon further inspection, they found two drying marijuana plants on the back porch and multiple live plants growing in kennels behind the home. After securing an additional search warrant, officers seized a total of 187 marijuana plants, which were transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office as evidence.
Henry Kiser now faces multiple charges including:
-
Domestic Battery
-
Domestic Assault
-
Destruction of Property
-
Wanton Endangerment
-
Attempt to Commit a Felony (Murder)
-

Kiser was transported to Southern Regional Jail after being processed at the sheriff’s office. The investigation is ongoing.
