CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In the early hours on Sunday, the Charles Town Police Department (CTPD) responded to a call reporting a breaking and entering incident at a residence on South Fairfax Boulevard.
According to CTPD, a nude male was allegedly found inside the home, attacking an occupant of the residence.
At approximately 2:26 a.m., officers arrived at the scene, where they learned the suspect had locked himself in an upstairs bedroom.
An officer forced entry into the room and encountered the suspect, who reportedly failed to comply with multiple lawful orders.
As the suspect approached the officer, he was subdued with a less-lethal weapon and taken into custody without further incident.
Police investigation revealed that the occupants of the residence had awakened to find a nude man, whom they did not know, standing in their bedroom.
A brief struggle ensued between the male occupant and the suspect, allowing both residents to escape and call 911.
Following medical clearance, the suspect was transported to the Eastern Regional Jail.
Upon arrival, he allegedly attempted to pull away from the arresting officer in an attempt to flee but was unsuccessful.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Jassiah Kai Cheng, faces charges of Entering Without Breaking, Resisting Arrest, and Attempted Escape.
