The City of Oak Hill would like to invite kids aged 5-12 with family members or guardians to join this free half-day activity at the newest municipal park in Fayette County, Needleseye Park!
The half-day activities will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 1 PM to 5 PM, and on Saturday, July 20, from 1 PM to 5 PM.
This playground of outdoor adventure and fun abounds with natural beauty.
“We want kids to experience this beauty with fun, engaging activities that teach children respect for our natural environment,” the event flyer states.
“Our community activity leaders will lead families into the park to observe nature, identify creatures big and small, build a survival shelter, get a face painting, scramble on rocks, take a scavenger hunt, build a nature mobile and just enjoy the outdoors!”
Some hiking will be required, and appropriate footwear is suggested.
Families are encouraged to pack water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for this half-day activity.
Participants will meet at the Needleseye trailhead parking: 655 Needleseye Rd, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
The activity will not be held if it is raining.
