INWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested for robbing a man at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Berkeley County Walgreens.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department (BCSD), on February 2, 2024, Deputies responded to the Walgreens in Inwood for a reported armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot.
Deputies spoke to the victim, who told them he was meeting someone to buy an item when a black male exited the vehicle and robbed him at gunpoint.
Deputies requested assistance from the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Corporal S. Dopson then initiated a follow-up investigation.
Corporal Dopson received information that Kenneth Buckhalter, of Harper’s Ferry, was the person who robbed the victim at Walgreens. It was also learned that Lottie Smith, 33 of Falling Waters, was in the vehicle with Buckhalter.
On March 18, 2024, a search warrant was served on a residence in Berkeley County where Buckhalter was supposed to staying.
Buckhalter was taken into custody by the BCSD SWAT team without incident. He was charged with armed robbery, conspiracy, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Charges may be forthcoming for Lottie Smith as well, according to police.
