(LOOTPRESS) – In the heart of West Virginia, a resurgence of conservative, Republican leadership is paving the way for a bright future. As I mark my 50th day as Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party, my gratitude deepens for the trust our Executive Committee has placed in me. This era is an exhilarating time for our Party, driven by a commitment to economic prosperity, strong family values, and unwavering patriotism — a message that deeply resonates with the people of our state.
Our position at the forefront of the nation’s political dialogue is no coincidence. Over the past decade, the Republican Party has solidified its supermajority in both the House and Senate, securing control across the executive branch and major statewide offices. The upcoming retirement of Senator Manchin signals a potential clean sweep of congressional seats in 2024, possibly tipping the scales for the Republican Party to regain a national majority.
My travels across our magnificent state have only clarified my objectives. West Virginia is home to passionate, diligent individuals who prioritize faith, family, and freedom — principles that have guided the Republican Party to its dominant position. The contrast with the Democratic Party, which has drifted from the values once shared with our citizens, couldn’t be starker. West Virginia’s heart beats with Republican values, rooted in moral standards that transcend the individual.
These principles, blessed by divine favor and exemplified by Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President, guide our mission. Speaking in Mineral County’s Potomac Highlands at a recent Lincoln Day celebration, I was reminded of Lincoln’s leadership during America’s most challenging times and his belief in unity, freedom, and equality. His words, “A house divided against itself cannot stand,” echo a timeless truth: We are one nation, united under the ideals of liberty.
As the West Virginia Republican Party embraces its strength, our path forward involves overcoming internal divisions, advocating for justice without vengeance, and reaching out to all voters with our core principles. Our Party’s origins, aimed at ending slavery and championed by Lincoln, reflect a history of fighting for equal rights, economic freedom, and opposition to tyranny. These efforts underscore a distinction from other political parties and align with the moral courage found in the hearts of West Virginians.
I am excited for what lies ahead for our state and confident that the legacy of those who fought for America’s ideals will inspire us to achieve even greater heights.
