PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wood County man accumulated multiple drug-related charges earlier this month after being stopped for a number of traffic infractions.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, Deputy D. Alltop while on routine patrol took notice of a silver sedan which appeared to have multiple traffic infractions. This resulted in the deputy initiating a vehicle traffic stop.
Upon making contact with the subjects discovered within the vehicle, Deputy Alltop was able to identify the front-seat passenger as Mark Ramsey. Further investigation led to the determination that Ramsey had an active arrest warrant for parole violation.
Deputy Alltop removed Ramsey from the vehicle and detained him before conducting a search of the area where the suspect had been seated. There, the Deputy located approximately 31.53 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 56.68 grams of suspected heroin.
In addition to the warrant-based charge, Ramsey was also placed under arrest for two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
