PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Parkersburg man was arrested Saturday for his role in the armed robbery of the People’s Players’ Club on Wednesday, 9/7/22.
According to reports from the Parkersburg Police Department, officers with the Parkersburg PD responded to 1628 Blizzard Drive, People’s Players’ Club at approximately 3:37am regarding an armed robbery.
The clerk on the scene informed officers that a tall male wearing a face mask and dark clothing had entered the establishment brandishing a knife and had forced her to give him money.
A follow-up investigation conducted by detectives determined Eric Lee Harmon, 33 of Parkersburg, to be a suspect.
Harmon also had an active capias warrant for failure to appear in Wood County Magistrate Court in a case related to a Domestic Battery charge.
Late in the evening of Friday, 9/9/21, detectives made their way to 2205 Nora Street in Parkersburg with the intention of locating Harmon.
Detectives suspected that there was someone inside the residence, despite receiving no answer upon knocking on the door.
While at the residence, detectives took notice of a motorcycle parked in the back, and were able to determine that cash had been paid for the vehicle by Harmon on the evening of Wednesday, 9/7/21.
A search warrant for the residence was obtained, and was executed by SWAT members early Saturday morning.
Harmon was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant at this time, after he was found hiding in the attic of the residence.
Upon his transport to the Parkersburg Police Department, Harmon confessed to his role in the robbery during an interview conducted by detectives.
At the police department, Harmon was processed on the outstanding warrant and was issued the additional charge of armed robbery.
He was then placed in the Wood County Holding Center to await court proceedings before a Wood County Magistrate, and was held without bond.
Detectives located several items within the residence pertaining to the reported robbery. These included the aforementioned motorcycle, as well as tools believed to have been purchased with stolen funds.
Approximately $7,500 is believed to have been stolen during the robbery, according to a figure provided by detectives investigating the case. Additional charges are expected to be issued as the case develops.
