BECKLEY, WV- (LOOTPRESS)- With only a handful of precincts left to report, it looks like a huge night for republicans around the state. Not only was there a complete sweep for republicans on the ballot from President Trump down through the Board of Public works, when the dust settles the republicans look to take approximately 75 seats in the House of Delegates and 23 seats in the State Senate. All of this republican success occurred in spite of the almost 5 million dollars spent by special interest super pacs to flip the State of West Virginia back to democratic control.
Donald Trump-President, Shelly Moore Capito-US Senate, David McKinley-US House, Alex Mooney-US House, Carol Miller-US House, Jim Justice-Governor, Mac Warner-Secretary of State, Patrick Morriesy-Attorney General, Riley Moore-Treasurer, JB McCuskey-Auditor, Kent Leonhardt-Commissioner of Agriculture; all with run away wins in the state.
Republicans won 14 of the 17 Senate seats up this election.
Republicans won 75 of the 100 Delegate seats up this election.
A huge night for the Republican party.
