HURRICANE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Residents of a Hurricane home narrowly avoided catastrophe on Wednesday morning as a two-story structure fire overtook the building.
The Nitro Fire Department reports that, on the morning of Wednesday, January 3, 2023, Nitro Station 80, Ladder 861, Chief 801, and PIO 840 were dispatched to provide mutual aid to the Hurricane Fire Department for a two-story structure fire on Mary Street in the Hurricane area.
All residents of the home were able to escape the structure while avoiding injury as a result of having been alerted to the fire in progress by a smoke detector which had been installed inside the home.
The initial cause of the blaze remains unclear at the time of writing.
