BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Recently elected Raleigh County Circuit Judge candidate Todd Kirby will be sworn in next week during a ceremony at the historic Raleigh County Courthouse.
An announcement from the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia indicates that the swearing-in will take place at 11:30am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with Tenth Judicial Circuit Judge Andrew Dimlich scheduled to be on hand for the delivering of the oath of office.
The appointment follows the appointment of Kirby, formerly a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, to serve the remainder of Judge Robert Burnside’s term following Burnside’s retirement on May 31 of this year. Burnside’s term will conclude on December 31 of this year.
The May election saw Kirby elected to position of Circuit Judge as well, and his eight-year term is set to begin on January 1, 2024.
Todd Kirby is a resident of Beckley where he lives with his wife and two children. He operated his own law practice from 2011-2024 and served as an assistant prosecutor for the Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office from 2023-2024 where he primarily pursued cases pertaining to abuse and neglect.
