ELKVIEW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people have died following the collision of two motorcycles.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, the 2800 block of Jordan Creek in Elkview was closed for several hours last night while Sheriff’s Deputies worked to investigate a two-vehicle crash that killed two drivers.
The crash occurred just after 8:00 p.m. yesterday when two motorcycles collided in a head-on collision resulting in the death of both drivers.
The drivers, 24-year-old Shawn Dakota Roseberry and 26-year-old Michael Lee Roseberry of Jordan Creek were brothers and both died at the scene.
Deputies believe speed and wet roadway conditions played a role in the crash, but also noted the motorcycles were not street legal, had faulty equipment, and neither driver was wearing a helmet.
After a lengthy road closure, Jordan Creek Road has reopened without any additional delays expected.
No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash.
