CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A new bill, HB 2657, seeks to allow voluntary Saturday classes for public and public charter school students in West Virginia who need extra help or have fallen behind in their coursework.
Under the proposal, these special Saturday sessions would be optional for both students and teachers, with educators receiving additional pay for participating. The West Virginia Department of Education would be responsible for designing the courses and determining student placement.
The bill is currently under consideration in the Legislature.
