MADISON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The 27th annual West Virginia Coal Festival in Madison, WV will be held June 22-26.
This festival draws thousands each year to the heart of Boone County where mining equipment, a miners’ memorial, and historical information on the coal industry in Boone County and across southern West Virginia is on display.
The West Virginia Coal Festival INC Facebook Page reads, “The five-day event is a great time to get together to celebrate coal mining and its heritage. We’re proud of an industry that originated in Boone County where coal was First Discovered in Peytona in 1742.”
In addition to the vendors, food trucks, and carnival rides and games, musical entertainment will be present each day. An early look at the entertainment schedule reads as follows:

The parade line-up will begin at Scott High School at noon on Saturday, June 26th.
