ELKVIEW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after shooting his wife following an argument.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, the husband of the Elkview woman shot on Wednesday night, October 11, 2023, is now in custody and preparing for arraignment this morning in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
The husband of the victim, 37-year-old Robert J. Lowers of Elkview initially denied any involvement with the shooting incident, but detectives have since learned that Robert Lowers did shoot his wife on Wednesday night.
The couple was in an argument when Robert pulled out a handgun and shot his wife.
The victim currently remains in stable condition at CAMC General Hospital after having surgery for a single gunshot wound to her right arm.
Lieutenant A.C. Pile with Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Section filed a warrant against, Robert Lowers for one felony count of Malicious or Unlawful Assault.
Lowers surrendered himself to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division earlier this morning.
He is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
