June 20: Father’s Day weekend at Glade Springs
The Resort at Glade Springs will celebrate fathers from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 20.
The events are as follows:
“Nine and Dine”
- special 9-hole golf rate at $55 per player all-day
Cookout on Bunker’s Lawn from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- The cookout will feature ribs, burgers and hot dogs with potato salad, BBQ beans and chips. Beers, sodas and water will also be available.

June 20: Bluegrass & Country at the Corner
The Chimney Corner Café in Ansted is inviting everyone to enjoy West Virginia Day and Father’s Day with them for Bluegrass & Country at the Corner on Sunday, June 20.
The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature live music from the Long Point String Band, an Old-Time acoustic outfit from southern West Virginia, and more.

June 20: Tamarack Courtyard Concerts
From 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, the Tamarack Marketplace Courtyard Concert series will welcome Matt Mullins and Mick Souter. The concert is being extended for West Virginia Day celebrations.
Mullins will perform from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Souter to follow from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The event will offer free live music in Tamarack’s outdoor courtyard. Guests will be able to browse through the center’s retail space and Fine Art Gallery following the show.

June 22: Logan Halstead with special guest Lazy & Justified
From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, Logan Halstead, a singer-songwriter from Boone County, will perform at The Burrito Bar at Breeze Hill.
Halstead with be joined by Lazy & Justified, an Americana, folk duo.

June 24: Swinging with Sinatra
On Thursday, June 24, Frank Sinatra impersonator Lee Dean will be performing at the Historic Black Knight in Beckley.
Dean will take the stage on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to help support the Raleigh County Humane Society.
Tickets to the event are $35. This price includes dinner and the show.

June 24 through June 27: Theatre West Virginia presents Alice at Wonderland
This Thursday, Theatre West Virginia will open its 2021 summer season with Alice at Wonderland, a modern retelling of the classic children’s story that asks what would happen if a 21st century Alice collided with Lewis Carroll’s legendary Wonderland?
With all the characters from the original story, Alice at Wonderland is laid out in traditional style, however, its main character is distinctly contemporary, complete will a cell phone and a modern style.
Alice at Wonderland is an adaptation for both children and adults.
Catch the performances at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Cliffside Amphitheatre at 4700 Grandview Road in Beaver.

June 25: The Great Race
From 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25, Beckley residents will welcome over 100 of the world’s finest antique automobiles from the Great Race- the world’s premiere time, speed and endurance rally open to cars built in 1974 and earlier.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the first racer will cross the downtown finish line soon after. The rest of the racers will arrive in town roughly one minute apart throughout the evening.
The event is free and open to the public and will offer a multitude of food vendors such as Appalachian Kettle Corn, Chick-fil-A, The Cast Iron Café MAD Concessions and more.
Antique cars will also be available to look at throughout the evening.

June 25 through June 27: Ansted’s Hometown Heritage Festival
Ansted’s Hometown Heritage Festival will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 25. The three-day celebration will commemorate Ansted’s town history and heritage with craft and food vendors, contests, games for kids, entertainment and prizes.

June 25: Lily Comer live at Weathered Ground Brewery
Lily Comer, a young singer and songwriter born in Welch and raised in Bluefield, Virginia, will take the Weathered Ground Brewery (WGB) Taproom stage from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25.
While WGB is happy to welcome live music back into their taproom, they ask that patrons continue to employ certain safety precautions. The brewery will require individuals to wear masks at all times that they are not seated at their table and asks that individuals continue to remain six feet apart from those not in their party.

June 25: Short and Company
Short and Company will perform at The Burrito Bar at Breeze Hill from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25. The Burrito Bar says no one will want to miss the group’s amazing blues guitarist bending his strings during the performance.

June 26: 38th Annual Bearhole Road Race 5K/10K
On Saturday, June 26, Twin Falls Resort State Park will host the 38th Annual Bearhole Road Race.
Registration for the event will begin at 7 a.m. at the lower end of the golf course parking lot. The 5K and 10K races will begin at 8 a.m.
Race applications are available at the park’s front desk or online here. Mail-in applications with a check or money order- payable to Twin Falls Resort State Park- need to be addressed accordingly:

June 26: Shamrock Shindig
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, Nicholas County will offer a ride through its scenic mountains.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and rides start at 10 a.m. at The Tractor Bar in Mount Nebo- located at 546 Wilderness Highway in Mount Nebo. There is a $20 entry fee, and lunch will be provided at the halfway point. All riders under the age of 18 must wear a helmet per West Virginia State Law.
Other events on Saturday include t-shirts sales and raffles.
All proceeds will benefit the Mount Nebo St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

June 26: Wonderland Waterpark DJ Dance Party
Ace Adventure Resort is inviting everyone to play through the night at the park’s first annual Wonderland Waterpark DJ Dance Party from 8 p.m. to midnight.
A deejay will be present to keep the fun going, and a full light show will play across the lake. Visitors can bring their floats and friends and enjoy a night of summer fun.

June 27: Goat Yoga at Weathered Ground Brewery
On Sunday, June 27, KFit Boutique Fitness will take yoga to the next level. KFit will host goat yoga at 11 a.m. at the Weathered Ground Brewery (WGB).
The class will be led by Evolve Yoga’s Julie Bowles and feature pygmy and fainting goats.
Tickets are available on fitdegree app here for $30. Tickets include one free beer from WGB.
Participants are asked to bring their own mats.

June 27: Wildwood House Museum
At 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, Travis Henline of Wheeling will enact Francis H. Pierpont, governor of the “Restored Government of Virginia” following secession in 1861.
Pierpont is widely acclaimed as the “Father of West Virginia” Immediately after Raleigh County Historical Society will hold a brief dedication of two markers commemorating the mysterious Ferguson Rock, the oldest known Beckley landmark which bears the inscribes date “1814.”
The rock has been on display at Wildwood since 2018.
One of the commemorative markers that will be unveiled on Sunday was designed by RCHS and the second is a Legends and Lore marker procured via a competitive grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation of Syracuse, New York.
