WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until midnight tonight for some counties in West Virginia.
The advisory is in effect for Western Grant County, Eastern Preston County, and Eastern Tucker County.
Snowfall is expected, with additional accumulations of up to two inches in Western Grant County.
In Eastern Preston and Eastern Tucker Counties, including Hazelton, Terra Alta, Rowlesburg, Davis, Thomas, and Canaan Valley, additional accumulations between 1 and 3 inches are possible.
Higher accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are anticipated on west-facing slopes above 2500 feet.
The advisory remains in effect until midnight EST tonight, impacting Monday evening holiday commutes.
Residents can expect slippery road conditions.
Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution while traveling.
Individuals venturing outside should be cautious of icy and slippery steps, sidewalks, and driveways to reduce the risk of falls and injuries.
