BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – After months of rehearsals, set building, and costume design Woodrow Wilson theatre students and staff are ready to present their version of “Tarzan the Stage Musical”. This high energy production will transport audiences into Tarzan’s world.
Based on Disney’s epic animated musical Tarzan, “Tarzan the Stage Musical” features music by Phil Collins. The story is about an orphan boy who is raised by gorillas and is mostly having fun until he encounters Jane for the first time. Now he must navigate between his upbringing and his human instincts.
Ava Schwartz and Ryan Ellison play Tarzan’s mother and father. Cohen Shrader is featured as Tarzan and Mia Houck is Jane. Gage Pettry plays the older Terk, Tarzan’s best friend. Kate Fisher is the leopard and Nyanna Lawson plays Kala, Tarzan’s gorilla mother. Kate Hontz plays ten-year-old Tarzan and a young Terk is played by Tristan Lockhart.
This year the set was made by the Academy of Careers and Technology. The theatre group is so grateful for all the cooperation and collaboration of all involved in this performance. Don’t miss out on this spectacular rendition of Tarzan by our local teens.
