MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University (WVU) is advising students and faculty to use caution on campus after a black bear was spotted.
According to WVU, campus police issued a Community Notice advising caution after a black bear was reported in the Core Arboretum on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers immediately responded to the area and canvassed the trail but were not able to locate the bear.
WVU says if you encounter the bear, call 911.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources reports black bears are seldom aggressive and attacks are rare.
