BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Those eagerly awaiting the restoration of water service in Raleigh County may be faced with a longer wait than initially anticipated following a Friday morning update from Beckley Water Company.
According to the most recent update from the water supplier, it is estimated that another 48-72 hours will be needed in order for necessary repairs and assessments to take place for the restoration of service.
While many customers showed appreciation for the update, some expressed consternation at the anticipated timeline for restoration. These individuals pointed out that an estimated period for restoration of 48-72 hours had already been given during a Wednesday’s update from Beckley Water Company, during which it was revealed that contractors were being brought in to assist with repairs in the area.
In the meantime, water pressure is reportedly returning gradually for some customers. Distribution events continue to be held throughout the county for those still without access to the utility.
These customers will likely remain without water through the weekend, and will be expected to adhere to a Boil Water Advisory once service returns.
