PHILIPPI, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Crews were alerted to an active structure fire late Saturday night which drew response from several emergency entities.
The Philippi Volunteer Fire Department reports that, at 10:36pm on Saturday night, alerts were received with automatic mutual aid departments from Flemington Volunteer Fire Department, Grafton Fire Department, and Bridgeport Fire Department for a structure fire.
The incident occurred off Rt. 76 near Camp Run Road and saw response from Engine 42, immediately followed by Engine 43 and Brush 46 shortly after.
Upon arrival of Engine 42 at the scene, crews placed 2 1 ¾ crosslays in service to facilitate “an aggressive interior attack.”
Extensive overhaul operations began once the fire was under control, and crews returned to service at 1:06am on Sunday. An alert was made for Nutterford Volunteer Fire Department to cover any additional calls. Chief 4 held command.
