BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Bluefield announced Thursday that a free Memorial Day celebration event will be held in the city next week.
The event, set to take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, will be held at Chicory Square in Bluefield.
This event will be free and open to the public, and will have coffee and donuts available for all who wish to join.
City offices throughout the City of Bluefield will be closed on Monday, May 30th in observance of Memorial Day. Bluefield city offices will reopen and resume a regular schedule on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
The City of Bluefield also announced on Wednesday that the Ridge Runner Train will be operational on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday May 29 to get the summer season started.
The Ridge Runner Train will run from 12pm to 6pm on each day. Tickets will be $2 per person, and the first 50 kids will be able to ride for free.
Casey the Ridge Runner Baseball mascot will also be making an appearance, and will be present from 12pm to 1pm.
