BLUEFIELD, V.A. (LOOTPRESS) – Bluefield University in Tazwell County, Virginia, has made the decision to start its spring semester off virtually.
The college announced the news on Tuesday, January 4, stating that the semester will begin with remote learning on Monday, January 10, and return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Rebecca Kasey, Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Bluefield University, shared that the decision to start 2022 with remote learning came from the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
All members of the campus community will be required to receive and submit a negative COVID-19 test before returning to campus. Masks will be required for all members of the campus community to help slow the spread of the virus during the beginning weeks of the semester. This includes classrooms, public spaces, and when in the presence of other individuals. Faculty and staff remain under the Governor’s mask mandate in place.
