Timberline ski resort offers instruction for alpine, telemark, back country, snowboard, adaptive and racing techniques. Special programs exist for children, women, and seniors.
Timbers Pub is located on the upper level of the base lodge with a blazing fireplace and a full-service bar.
Canaan Valley has 34 trails and slopes with the longest run being 6,000 feet.
In addition, the resort offers night skiing on the weekends with snowing making abilities.
After a full day on the slopes, relax and enjoy the many choices of restaurants. Starting at one end of the ski area is the Aspen Room at Canaan where the view and food are wonderful. From the Golden Anchor you can see the Dolly Sods Wilderness area or eat at the popular White Grass Touring Center café with the longest lines of skiers waiting to feast on fine food.
Big John’s Family Fixin’s is loved by moms and dads because of its children’s entertainment center.
Deerfield Restaurant, Mother Tucker’s and Windwood sit between Canaan Valley and Timberline resorts. On the other side of Timberline is the longtime popular spot Sirianni’s, plus Muttley’s Downtown and Bright Morning Inn. These attractions draw large crowds during the winter season.

On state Route 32 in Tucker County is Blackwater Falls State Park. Choose one of the 26 deluxe cabins or one of 54 rooms that sit on the edge of the Blackwater Canyon.
