CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Kanawha County Commission will meet today at 4:30 pm to Certify municipal, county and state races from the May 10 primary that can be certified. The meeting will be held in the Commission Courtroom in the Kanawha County Courthouse located at 409 Virginia Street East.
The Board of Canvassers will also discuss the recount requests received for Charleston City Council Ward 8 (Robert Sheets) and Charleston City Council At-Large Democrat nomination race (Corey Zinn).
The requested recounts had been set to begin Tuesday, May 24 at 7:00 am at the Voter’s Registration Office. As required by W.Va. Code, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s office today served a Notice of the Recount on 16 candidates in the two races.
All matters relating to the request for the recounts will be discussed, including the required procedures and the costs associated with the recounts.
