CHARLESTON, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Christmas preparations for the City of Charleston are underway. On Tuesday, the city announced its plans for the annual Christmas parade.
The event will be held on Thursday, December 9, beginning at 7 p.m. Parade lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Kanawha Boulevard.
The parade route will begin on Kanawha Boulevard, proceed east to Capitol Street, Capitol Street north to Washington Street, Washington Street west to Clendenin Street; Clendenin Street south to Kanawha Boulevard where it will end. Units may turn right onto Kanawha Boulevard to leave the parade or left to unload passengers, secure equipment, disband, etc. and may continue eastbound to exit the route.
Prior to announcing the event date, Charleston city officials took into consideration the national recommendations on outdoor events from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).
Parade applications can be downloaded here. Applications are due by Monday, November 15, 2021.
