PINCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wednesday morning crash involving multiple vehicles necessitated intervention from fire crews for the removal of two individuals from one of the vehicles involved.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were at the scene of the incident at 10:15am on Wednesday and indicates that the crash itself occurred around 9:00am in the 3900 block of Indian Creek Road in Pinch, WV.
According to Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies Sergeant B.K. Howery and Deputy C.D. Moyers, a vehicle traveling out of Indian Creek Village Subdivision Wednesday morning slid on black ice into the intersection of Indian Creek Road and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Indian Creek Road.
The second vehicle involved, occupied by an older adult male and female, required extrication by fire crews for the removal of the occupants. The occupants were transported from the scene to CAMC General Hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries sustained.
The occupant of the initial vehicle was a 51-year-old female who was not injured during the incident.
As a result of the crash, Indian Creek Road was shut down so as to allow for emergency crews to address the black ice and clear the roadway.
“We want to remind everyone to exercise extra caution while traveling on roadways today as snow and ice is present in several areas,” said the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. “Reduce speeds and allow extra distance for stopping and when following other vehicles.”
