CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – When it came right down to it, Monday was not D-Day for the West Virginia State Senate after all.
The group convened again at 6 p.m. this evening, only to recess until noon tomorrow, still with no redistricting map.
Frustration was evident on the faces of Senate leaders such as President Craig Blair, who had expected a map to be approved today.
The House of Delegates approved their Congressional and Delegate District maps last week.
The Senate clearly remained divided as dusk arrived with some of the supermajority Republicans favoring nearly the status quo and others arguing for radical changes.
We will keep you advised as developments warrant.
