It’s been a day of meeting and recessing for the West Virginia State Senate.
Senators have been working for more than a week to come up with a consensus in their own redistricting.
The House of Delegates recessed Friday with its redistricting plan done. But there was no outline from the Senate so House members recessed until the call of Speaker Roger Hanshaw. That call has not yet come.
Senators are clearly divided on their plan with at least one amendment today being approved on a 17-16 vote. One senator is absent.
Each time a controversial vote has been taken, President Craig Blair immediately calls for a recess.
With the original Trump Map #8 up for potential approval, the body has recessed until 6 p.m.
Maps can be found on the legislative Website.
