HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An individual suspected to have been involved in a Wednesday afternoon shooting has turned himself into authorities with the Huntington Police Department.
Reports from the department indicate that officers responded to the 9th Street West and 5th Avenue West vicinity of Huntington on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, to investigate reports of multiple shots fired.
Responding immediately following Cabell County 911’s reception of the incident report, a vehicle which had sustained damage from multiple gunshots was discovered at the scene by investigating officers.
Three individuals were reportedly within the vicinity of the vehicle at the time the shooting occurred, though reports are conflicting with regard to whether these individuals were inside or outside of the impacted vehicle at the time of the incident. No injuries are reported to have been sustained by the individuals in question or by any other individuals as a result of the incident.
The Huntington Police Department were able to identify a suspect in the investigation, Eric Damian Skaggs – 22 years old of Huntington, WV – and warrants for Skaggs’ arrest were issued. Skaggs is reported to have turned himself in at the Huntington Police Department Headquarters at approximately 12:45pm on Thursday.
