BLUEWELL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A motor vehicle accident in the Bluewell area on Monday night resulted in multiple injuries, with one patient requiring the establishment of a helicopter landing zone for transport.
The Bluewell Fire Department reports that, on the night of Monday, September 4, 2023, Engine 4 and Truck 6 with the department responded to the Lorton Lick Road area of Mercer County in response to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles and with possible entrapment.
Upon arrival at the scene of the accident, crews began to assist Emergency Medical Services with the process of extrication. Meanwhile, Engine 3 responded to the Majestic Place area of Bluewell to establish a helicopter landing zone in the Dish Network parking area for one patient.
Engine 4 responded to the landing scene as backup for Engine 3 while Truck 2 and Truck 6 remained at the original scene of the incident. Crews were able to clear the scene shortly afterward.
The incident also saw responses from the Montcalm Fire Department, Bluefield Rescue, West Virginia State Police, and the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
