BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Commission will assemble on Tuesday for its Regular Session meeting at which a substantial number of items are set to be discussed for consideration, not the least significant of which will the approval for issuance of lease revenue bonds in the amount of up to $19 million to go toward the development of a plastics manufacturing facility.
The approval itself would be for the issuance of said bonds through the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA), and would specifically entail “the acquisition, construction, improvement, development, equipping, renovating, expanding and leasing of a plastics manufacturing facility.
Notably, the recently released meeting agenda for the Raleigh County Commission’s upcoming session refers to both an existing facility and renovated and expanded facility. It is unclear at the time of writing whether this could refer to the construction of an all-new facility in addition to an existing facility.
The property or properties in question would be utilized by Klockner Pentaplast of America, Inc., a global manufacturer for sustainable and recyclable plastics which currently has a Raleigh County facility located at 121 Blue Angel Ln, Beaver, WV 25813.
