RAVENSWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Jackson County man faces charges following an incident last week involving a stolen vehicle and subsequent police chase.
According to the Ravenswood Police Department, on Friday, January 5, 2024, at approximately 10:40pm, Patrolman Josh Ankrom of the Ravenswood PD was alerted regarding a vehicle which had been reported stolen to 911.
The vehicle – alleged to have been stolen from Rondis Hollow Road in Jackson County – was observed by Patrolman Ankrom on Washington Street where an attempt was made to conduct a traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle – identified as Thomas Howard, 33 years old of Ravenswood, WV – refused to pull over for the traffic stop, instead fleeing at a high rate of speed along Rt. 68 north to the 2600 block of Skull Run Road before stopping the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
Howard was ultimately detained and taken into custody without incident by Patrolman Ankrom, and assistance was provided by Deputy Cullen and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
