HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Kentucky man has been arrested as the suspect in a Wednesday morning shooting which took place in the 1000 block of Jefferson Avenue.
The Huntington Police Department reports having detectives work with investigators from the Ashland Police Department and the Northeast Kentucky Drug Task Force to identify Christopher Williams, 37, of Ashland Ky., as the suspect in a shooting which occurred on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Williams was located by Kentucky detectives and the Ashland Police Department’s SWAT team who arrested him in the 3100 block of Central Avenue in Ashland just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Williams has been charged with one felony count each of malicious assault and wanton endangerment, and will face extradition back to West Virginia.
“The Huntington Police Department is extremely appreciate of these Kentucky agencies and our close partnership, which enabled us to quickly arrest this violent individual,” read a statement from the Huntington PD.
