BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Kumo Japan cut the ribbon on their Beckley location on Tuesday in a grand reopening ceremony.
Kumo Japan team members were joined by Beckley Mayor, Rob Rappold, along with members of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce in celebration of the moment’s occasion.
The establishment, known for its distinct Japanese cuisine, is situated at the Galleria Plaza near several other local businesses including the Marquee Cinemas movie theater and Pottery Place.
Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Michelle Rotellini welcomed those in attendance for the event while congratulating Kumo Japan and introducing Mayor Rob Rappold.
“We are so excited about the opening of Kumo Japan – Newly renovated, [we’re] very honored,” she said. “The food smells amazing in there, and on behalf of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, we wish you the best of success.”
Mayor Rappold offered encouraging words as well, declaring, “On behalf of the City of Beckley, welcome! We’re glad to have you here.”
A representative from the Office of Senator Joe Manchin, Alex Hewitt, was in attendance for the reopening event as well, and offered remarks on behalf of the senator who was unable to attend in person.
“We all know the secret to success for any restaurant is having high quality food with employees who provide an excellent customer experience. However, restaurants such as this serve as much more than fine places to eat – they’re places that provide fun and fellowship for local residents and visitors of the area,” wrote Senator Manchin. “I have no doubt that Kumo Japan will continue to have a positive impact on the Beckley area for many more years to come. Today’s occasion is an excellent example of how helping one another can bring inspiration to an entire community.”
Kumo Japan is located at 108 Galleria Plaza in Beckley, WV.
