CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Four suspects were arrested on charges of Breaking and Entering Thursday after having reportedly been detained by an unknown masked individual who subsequently shot the tires of the suspects’ vehicles flat before leaving the scene.
The Charleston Police Department reports that, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at approximately 1:50pm, Deputies with the department responded to a reported trespassing incident in the Crouch Hollow Road area of Charleston.
Upon arriving at the scene, Deputies discovered four individuals on the ground whose hands had been tied behind their backs, along with a Chevrolet pickup truck and an ATV with four flat tires. Each of the individuals in question advised responding officers that they had been inside a cabin on Crouch Hollow Road and were approached by an armed, masked man as they were leaving.
Deputies were advised that the masked individual had ordered the female off the ATV and the men out of the truck before tying their hands behind their backs. The individual then shot the tires of the suspects’ vehicles flat before leaving the scene.
Deputies were informed by the owner of the cabin in question that the structure – a hunting cabin at which the owner does not reside full-time – had been broken into several times over the past six weeks. It was determined by law enforcement that the cabin owner had known involvement in the detainment of the four individuals involved.
Property from the cabin was subsequently discovered by Deputy J.D. Thaxton inside a suspect’s vehicle, leading to the arrest of the four individuals for Breaking and Entering. The suspects were identified as Elizabeth Littlejohn – 36 years old of Malden, WV – James McDaniel Jr – 50 years old of Charleston, WV – Timothy Justice – 56 years old of Milton, WV – and Jason Becher – 38 years old of Charleston, WV.
Following the arrests, the four suspects were arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court and a bond was set in the amount of $5000 property or 10% cash for each suspect. The suspects are currently housed at South Central Regional Jail. The identity of the masked man who apprehended the suspects remains unknown at the time of writing.
