SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – As inclement weather continues to impact our region, multiple school districts are dismissing early today, Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
West Virginia is currently experiencing a mixed bag of weather from rain, snow, freezing rain, and high winds. Many schools were closed or delayed today.
According to the West Virginia Department of Education, the following schools and/or school districts will be dismissing early on Tuesday:
Braxton County: Burnsville Elementary School in Braxton County will be closing at 12:30 on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024 due to power outage. Davis Elementary School in Braxton County will be closing at 12:00 on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024, due to power outages. Frametown Elementary School in Braxton County will be closing at 12:00 on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024, due to power outages.
Clay County: All schools in Clay County will be closing at 9:00 on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024, due to power outages.
Doddridge County: All schools in Doddridge County will be closing 2 hours early on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024. At approximately 1:15 p.m.
Monroe County: All schools in Monroe County will be closing 2 hours early on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024.
Summers County: All schools in Summers County will be closing 2 hours early on Tue. Jan. 9, 2024.
