RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An arrest was made Wednesday after a woman drove a vehicle into a Pizza Hut building and was found unconscious at an intersection shortly after with the car still in drive.
According to reports from the Rainelle Police Department as released by the Town of Rainelle, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at approximately 6:13pm, officers with the Rainelle Police Department responded to 532 John Raine Drive, the location of the Rainelle Pizza Hut restaurant, regarding reports of a motor vehicle accident.
Officers had been advised that the driver of the vehicle had struck the building with the vehicle before leaving the scene of the accident.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers observed the damage to the business before seeking out the driver in question.
The subject, a female driver, was located at the intersection of John Raine Drive and US Rt. 60 and was found to be unresponsive with the vehicle still shifted into drive.
The vehicle was secured, and officers forcibly made entry through the driver’s side door before administering first aid.
Several doses of Narcan were administered to the driver before she became responsive, at which point officers placed the driver under arrest.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, Rainelle Fire Department, and White Sulphur Springs EMS assisted at the scene.
The identity of the driver and nature of the charges has not yet been released at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
