CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia will hold a hearing at 10:00 a.m. on July 24 at the Ansted Town Hall Council Chambers, 104 Cemetery Street, Ansted. This will be the evidentiary hearing in the case of Deane Boalt Buuck and Clifford Buuck v. Appalachian Power Company.
The company proposed constructing a transmission substation along U.S. Route 60 near the Victor Post Office. The complainants object to that site and are seeking to have the company build the new substation in an alternate location. In March, the Commission held a public comment hearing and took comments from company representatives and 22 members of the public.
Currently, there are two locations under consideration for the site of the new substation. Despite the Commission’s public comment hearing and two open house meetings that were held by the company, the parties have not been able to reach an agreement regarding the location. Therefore, the Commission has set this matter for an evidentiary hearing.
