Roger Dale Richmond Jr., age 45, of Shady Spring, WV passed away
on Friday, August 6, 2021.
Born on September 28, 1975 in Beckley, he was the son of
Roger D. Richmond Sr. and Dora Lilly Richmond of Shady Spring.
Rod, as he was affectionately known by family and friends,
was a former Raleigh County Deputy Sheriff with fifteen years of service. He
also was a former coal miner, and attended Flat Top Missionary Baptist Church.
Rod enjoyed hunting in his spare time.
Other than his parents, those survivors left to cherish his
memory include his children, Sierra Richmond of Daniels, and Kayla Richmond of Princeton; two
sisters, Ginger Richmond of North Carolina, and Beth Ann Meadows and husband
David of North Carolina; his fiancé Tina Price, and her children Dillon and
Logan. Many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate the Life
of Roger Dale “Rod” Richmond Jr. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 11AM at the
Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor Mike McQuillen
officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity,
WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday at the
funeral home. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
