GREENVIEW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One member of Boone County law enforcement took it upon himself Friday to ensure that a customer received an expeditious delivery of their Door Dash order.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, September 1, 2023, Boone County Sheriff Chad Barker was conducting patrols in the Greenview area when a vehicle could be observed committing various traffic violations.
Upon initiating a traffic stop, it was discovered that the vehicle in question was uninsured, and that the driver was not legally permitted to operate a motor vehicle. This led to the vehicle ultimately being towed from the site of the traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle was also discovered to have been a Door Dash delivery driver in the process of delivering an order to a customer. While awaiting the arrival of a tow truck with the driver for transport of the uninsured vehicle, Sheriff Barker opted to complete the pending Door Dash order to the waiting customer in lieu of delivery from the original driver.
While awaiting the arrival of the tow truck, Sheriff Barker was able to complete the pending Door Dash delivery for the driver of the vehicle.
Regarding the situation, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department offered the following advice: “Enjoy the Holiday Weekend and take an opportunity to be kind to someone.”
