CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal has offered a potential reward for information which could lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for a residential fire which occurred earlier this week.
According to the State Fire Marshal, an incident occurred at roughly 2:30am on Sunday morning in which a residence in the 500 block of 4th Street in Huntington caught fire under suspicious circumstances.
As such, any pertinent information available is being requested from the public so as to determine the origins of the event. Any individuals with information or video surveillance from the area in which the fire originated are encouraged to contact the WV Arson Hotline at 800-233-FIRE or the Huntington Fire Marshal at (304) 696-5950.
Information which leads to the arrest and conviction of any individual(s) found responsible for the fire in question could entitle the information holder to a reward of up to $5,000.
In other news, the City of Huntington’s Public Works Department will be resuming its Clean Sweep campaign this month in the Fairfield area. The sweep will take place from August 29, 2023, to August 31, 2023, and will see coverage of 8th to 13th avenue between Hal Greer Boulevard and 20th Street areas.
The campaign also presents the opportunity for residents in these areas to offer larger items for pickup such as furniture, brush/yard waste, construction materials, dried paint cans, and non-Freon appliances.
