HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Planned accommodations pertaining to Hinton’s upcoming Railroad Days event stand to alter traffic patterns for some motorists throughout the area.
With Railroad Days quickly approaching, and festivities set to get underway on Thursday, October 20th, preparations are already underway to ensure as smooth a setup as possible for those involved.
Specifically, accommodations will be made for the setup of vendors on various streets, with notices set to be issued to vehicles in pertinent areas beginning early next week.
Temple Street, along with part of 2nd Avenue, will be closed starting Wednesday to allow for efficient vendor setup in preparation for the event.
“We will begin putting flyers on vehicles early next week along Temple Street and other areas designated for the festival,” read a release from the Hinton Police Department.
“Part of 2nd Avenue and Temple Street will be closed starting Wednesday evening to allow for vendors to begin setting up. We realize that this can sometimes be an inconvenience for some residents and businesses,” the release continues.
“Please remember that it is only temporary and that Railroad Days is an amazing opportunity for our community to show others what makes us special.”
Hinton Police Department goes on to encourage those in the area to exercise patience and understanding as proceedings are underway, particularly toward those directly involved.
“Please be patient and kind with vendors, staff, and visitors to our area during this event. Also please use extreme caution when driving, as there will be numerous pedestrians all around the streets as well as festival areas.”
Hinton Railroad Days will kick off on Thursday, October 20th, and will run through Sunday, October 23rd.
