BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – You can do some Christmas shopping and support local crafters this weekend at the Beckley Woman’s Club. The club is hosting a Vendors Fair Saturday, featuring local artisans and craftsmen and their creations. The Vendors Fair is open following the Christmas parade from 1 pm until 4 pm at the Woman’s Club clubhouse.
There is no admission fee; however, those attending are asked to make a donation to Harmony’s Breath, a non-profit group that offers support to women who have suffered pregnancy and infant loss.
According to Club President Cindy Worley, there will be a variety of arts and crafts featured.”We have jewelry, ceramic items, paintings, wooden items, tarts, paper crafts, and art,” she said. There will be free photos with Santa Claus available!
Worley said she was surprised and delighted by how quickly local crafters signed up. “We are always happy to support local artists, and offer them very a nice place to sell their wares,” she said. Worley said the Woman’s Club charges very little for a space at the event, and the crafters seem to appreciate this. “The Woman’s Club has always supported the arts, and we enjoy having crafters show off their creations in our clubhouse,” Worley added. Crafters may still sign up for the show as late as Friday.
Money raised by the Woman’s Club at such events goes back into the community, Worley noted. “The Woman’s Club was born of a desire to serve the community, and we do so throughout the year. Events such as this are how we raise funds” she explained.
The Woman’s Club clubhouse is located at 202 Park Avenue in Beckley beside Bobby Pruett Stadium. If you need more information, you can contact Worley at (304) 228-1852.
