LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A system-wide Boil Water Advisory issued by the City of Lewisburg earlier this week has been lifted according to reports from the city.
Residents utilizing pertinent water utilities within the service area of the city water system were informed on Tuesday that a Boil Water Advisory would go into effect to accommodate repairs being conducted to a 12-inch maintain leak affecting residential water service.
The effects of the advisory were felt even beyond the city itself, as the nearby City of Ronceverte was informed by the Greenbrier County Health Department that the city’s Splash Pad attraction would not be permitted to operate until such a time as the advisory was lifted.
This notice was issued due to the City of Ronceverte’s reported usage of water originating from within the service area which was placed under the Boil Advisory.
Initial predications from the City of Lewisburg that the advisory would continue until Thursday proved to be correct, as the advisory was lifted on Thursday afternoon per an announcement from the city.
