GLENMORE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A months-long investigation in the Randolph County area has culminated with the arrest of multiple individuals and the confiscation of a substantial amount of substances and firearms.
Task Force Commander Corporal D. L. VanMeter of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at approximately 4:00pm, a search warrant was conducted by members of the Mountain Region Drug & Violent Task Force at the Glenmore residence of Duane Sprouse in Randolph County.
The task force has, over the course of several months, facilitated controlled purchase operations at Sprouse’s residence. Search warrants were obtained as a result of the investigation.
The search is reported to have resulted in the confiscation of approximately 57 grams of methamphetamine, 184 grams of marijuana, 6 firearms, and $20,270 in US currency, which was processed and secured as evidence in the investigation.
The Mountain Region Special Response Team was deployed and secured the scene, and Sprous along with several other suspects were arrested. Sprouse, additionally, is a prohibited person and cannot possess a firearm. The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are expected to be brought.
The Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force is a multi-agency task force comprising officers from Randolph, Barbour, Upshur, and Lewis County Sheriff’s Offices.
