BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Commission convened Tuesday for their regular session at which a number or pertinent topics were addressed, not the least significant of which entailed Trick-or-Treat times for Halloween this year.
“This is about two months ahead of time but Mr. Quesenberry wanted us to get this on the record as quickly as possible,” said Commission President Dave Tolliver. “We’re always getting calls,” Raleigh County Administrator Jay Quesenberry chimed in.
The commission meeting agenda lists the item, number 5.9, as being presented for approval from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on the night of Halloween, Monday, October 31, which is the time and date which was ultimately passed in Tuesday morning’s meeting of the county commission.
“We’re going to approve this [for] 5-7pm on the 31st of October,” Tolliver continued. “
The motion for the approval of the time passed unanimously, and Raleigh County is said to be coordinating with the City of Beckley, who are expected to establish the same guidelines for the city itself regarding the holiday.
