UPDATE: A woman has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit and run.
Angel Alberta Estep, of War, was arrested and charged with Negligent Homicide, Crash involving Death, Duty to render aid, Immediate Notification of crash, Failure to Maintain Control after she fatally struck a two-year-old child.
She was arraigned before Magistrate Steve Cox, and a Bond of $100,000 was set.
She was taken to the McDowell County Holding unit awaiting transport to the Southwestern Regional Jail.

UPDATE: McDowell County Sheriff’s Department says that they have a suspect(s) and are currently awaiting forensic evidence to be returned from the WVSP lab.
The Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the public for their assistance along with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office for their outstanding support.
No other information will be released at this time as this is still an active investigation.

UPDATE: A two-year-old has died after a hit and run in McDowell County, according to Deputies.

MCDOWELL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Deputies with the McDowell County Sheriffs Office responded to and are investigating a hit and run/ serious accident involving a pedestrian around 529 pm this evening in three forks area (near Bradshaw) of McDowell County.
West Virginia State Police is assisting in the investigation. The vehicle left the scene and is described as an older small SUV type vehicle silver in color, possibly with front end damage. The vehicle was traveling towards Buchanan county Virginia.
A two-year-old child was seriously injured, and we are requesting the public’s help in locating this vehicle/driver.
