WELCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Following the resignation of some members of the Welch Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), a new fire chief has been appointed.
According to the City of Welch, Dennie Hale is now serving as the chief of Welch VFD.
The appointment comes after some members resigned from the department, although the exact number has not been confirmed at this time.
Welch Mayor Harold McBride says the entire department did not resign.
“The entire department did not resign we have a new fire chief Dennie Hale everything is normal,” McBride told LOOTPRESS.
The city assures citizens that several members of the Welch VFD are still providing services to the area and public safety will always be the first priority.
