CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – WVNET, which provides internet service for public schools in West Virginia, is currently experiencing outages statewide.
According to the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE), due to a WVNET outage caused by a downed tree, internet service statewide has been affected.
Those affiliated with the state’s public school system may experience delays and there may be interruptions while trying to access the West Virginia Department of Education’s website and social media platforms.
Internet access is completely down in Pleasants and Lincoln counties and the remainder of the state will have slow and/or intermittent access to the internet.
It is not recommended that counties conduct online assessments at this time.
AEP and WVNET are working to restore services, and the WVDE will pass along updates to the counties as they become available.
