LANSING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – For those brave enough, individuals can walk the entire length of the New River Gorge Bridge under the flow of traffic on the catwalk.
Bridge Walk, located in Lansing, WV, is a must-do activity for thrill seekers and those wanting to witness some of the best views around.
The 2-3 hour tour starts as you are shuttled from the Bridge Walk HQ to the catwalk located at the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve Canyon Rim Visitor’s Center. From there, you will descend down the Bridge Walk Trail to the catwalk which is located 25 feet beneath the bridge.
The catwalk itself is only two feet wide but has a substantial railing. Before the tour, all guests must be securely fastened onto a safety cable making it impossible to fall from the bridge.
Guests will walk the entire length of the bridge which is 3,030 feet in length. You are not rushed on your journey across the 3rd tallest bridge and there will be plenty of time to take in the view, and catch your breath!
The New River Gorge Bridge is 876 feet high.
After completing the journey across the bridge, guests will then be shuttled back to Bridge Walk HQ.
